Mental Health Gift-Guide

I know these gifts may vary depending on each person, but I wanted to share some of my personal picks. Everyone who struggles with anxiety, depression or another form of mental illness may need something completely different, but I think the most important thing they need is your support and love. Reaching out to someone, listening and being there for them are the most important things you can do as a friend or family member. There is NO price tag on that! These are some things I have found beneficial over the years that would make for thoughtful gifts this holiday season! Click on the picture above for all for all the direct links for each item. 1. Withdrawals, Anxiety & Christmas

If you have ever been on an anti-depressant, you know it can take a while to decrease the dose – or to come off of it completely. I have done this several other times, but this time, it’s difficult. Not in a bad way. I finally realized that I AM doing better and I don’t need the same amount of medication. This isn’t to say that I don’t agree with medication in general, but for me personally, it has numbed me so much over the years and made me SO tired. People give (and still do!) me a hard time about sleeping too much – EVERYONE. My family, friends, etc. etc. etc. But, after a weekend of withdrawals (on accident), I realized, I may be a completely different energetic person once I am able to

Cozy Gift Guide

I definitely feel like "cozy" is my natural state...truly! Whenever I am at home, I immediately change into PJ's, leggings, a t-shirt, etc.! ESPECIALLY in the winter time. If you haven't picked up on it, I am always cold. Always. So I am constantly layering in the winter and taking an extra jacket/sweater with me everywhere I go. I have always been this way, so I knew I had to do a cozy gift guide! I would be wearing any one of these after a long day at work, or to hangout in. If it wasn't a crime to go somewhere in my PJ's, I totally would. It has been extremely cold in Dallas as of lately which is unusual, so people have been bundling up down here! You probably have that friend too, the on

Full Of Gratitude

I have been convicted of something recently – and no, it’s not because it’s the month of November. I can be very negative at times, and it greatly affects my relationships and how I view others. I wouldn’t say I am a negative person by any means, but I could definitely use an attitude adjustment. I have been SO focused on ME and not others. I let my mood and how I am feeling determine how I speak to others sometimes. It was a BIG wakeup call. So, I am consciously working on and praying about my attitude daily. I think because I have been so used to having anxiety for SO long and deal with constant headaches/migraines, I have justified this behavior – but it’s not OK. I want to be intentional

The Beginning Of The Bad - High School Part 2

I was living the dream in High School, so I thought. I had it all together, so I thought. Or rather, I was very good at pretending I had it together. I began my last two years of high school with a passion for the arts – choir & theatre. It was something I truly enjoyed and loved improving upon. Was I the best singer? Or actor? Absolutely not. This is something I really had to work at, and it took great discipline on my end. The word “college” was always floating around in the air, and I really had no idea where I wanted to go OR what I wanted to study. But, I think it’s safe to say that this is the year I knew the arts had to be a part of my future. I started 11th grade with a lot of anxiet

About Me

Our deepest fear is NOT that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our LIGHT,not our darkness that most frightens us.We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?'

You are a child of God.Your playing small does not serve the world. There is NOTHING enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.We are all meant to SHINE, as children do.We were born to make MANIFEST the glory of God that is within us.It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we LET OUR OWN LIGHT SHINE,we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically LIBERATES others.
