Give a little, to those who need a smile! :)

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, I wanted to talk about how we can ALL make a difference, whether you struggle with it or not. This looks different to everyone. I'm talking about showing ENCOURAGEMENT & KINDNESS! Even though the majority of conversations with people we encounter on a daily basis may only be surface level, the tone and level of kindness in which we speak to them is crucial. This means we have to put our pain and struggles aside for a brief moment and put their feelings first. This may be impossible for some - I get it. But, in my experience, when someone has gone out of their way to really talk to me, to be kind, I remember them. Always. The truth is we don'

Bringing SUNSHINE into SUMMER with this outfit!

You want to know the least common color in my wardrobe? YELLOW. That's right. Now, don't ask me why, but it is slowly becoming one of my favorites! It's so bright, cheerful & BOLD! I'm loving all the summer colors out right now, but you can pair any color with yellow and it will look great! (Yes, of course, that does mean pink!) This top is from Neiman Marcus Last Call, and it is a must. I tend to have a lot of patterned tops and dresses, and I have realized that I need more PLAIN tops so that I can pair them with awesome accessories and other colors! This is a perfect example. I paired this bright yellow off-the-shoulder top with a jean skirt (Forever 21). All I needed was the right accesso

One Step At A Time

I’ve never been a fan of flying. When I was in middle school, I flew with my mom to see my grandparents on occasion. Other than that, for family trips, we would mostly drive. There were 6 of us traveling, and I imagine nobody wanted to deal with all of us on an airplane! It wasn’t until senior year of high school on a choir trip to NYC that I flew again. My mom was head of the choir booster club, and she and my dad wanted to go on the trip as chaperones. I remember being nervous about the flight, but I had so many friends around me that I didn’t really think about it. I did have bad associations of being away from home (see previous posts) - mainly fears of having panic attacks, as the agora

PAIN is for your PROGRESS!

It's been kinda quiet on here recently, and for a good reason. I launched my blog in late January, and to be honest, this year has thrown me some major curveballs and has not been that great so far. I became mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted. This picture is the reality of how I look, and NOT Instagram perfection. A true naked face - blemishes, imperfections & all! The rest of my pictures are super colorful and cheerful, which is what I normally want to show - the BEST version of me. But that’s not real. I thought about holding back and continuing on silently, but that’s exactly the opposite of what I’m encouraging others to do! If you didn’t already know, Instagram is not real

Our deepest fear is NOT that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our LIGHT,not our darkness that most frightens us.We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?'

ACTUALLY,

WHO ARE YOU NOT TO BE?

You are a child of God.Your playing small does not serve the world. There is NOTHING enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.We are all meant to SHINE, as children do.We were born to make MANIFEST the glory of God that is within us.It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we LET OUR OWN LIGHT SHINE,we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically LIBERATES others.
