The Glory of Easter!

Ever since I was little, my family celebrated Easter in a big way! We always went to church, of course. Church was followed by family lunch at a restaurant. After lunch, we would return home where we would usually have some sort of Easter egg hunt. Over the years, these traditions continue - we would watch my nephew, Matt, find eggs in the backyard, and today, we get to watch my nephews & niece hunt for eggs! Going to church on Easter Sunday was always part of our routine, and each year, I would hear the same story that I knew very well - God sent his only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to save us from our sins, and He rose again on the third day. Because I grew up in the church, I a

Smiling through the Stress

STRESS ALERT! I am constantly thinking of everything going on over the next few months, and I get truly overwhelmed & anxious just thinking about it. But, then I stop and take a couple of deep breaths. You see, the Lord has been teaching me so many things about myself that I have never known. Before I get wrapped up in MY *own anxiety*, MY stress, "ME ME ME" and MY selfishness, I realize that I need to stop and pray about each of these things FIRST. It’s easy to want to control everything, to fight and stress! But WHY would I want that? Well, I don’t, but we are creatures of habit. Let’s talk about perspective. I COULD look at it this way - The Lord is teaching me that anxiety/stress is not

EATS & DRINKS!

It's only a few days away! Have you made your plans yet?! Not to worry. You have PLENTY of options. There are SO many festivities happening in DFW this weekend for St. Patrick’s Day, and they all have one thing in common - good food + drinks! Who doesn’t love an excuse to go out with your friends and celebrate? Whether you celebrate Irish culture or just want to grab green beer, there are endless options. Here are my top 4: 1. The Londoner in Rockwall - this is your go-to family friendly + PET friendly restaurant. If you know me, you know I’m a huge dog lover! They will have all the Irish favorites including corned beef pie, smoked corned beef Reuben, and grilled bratwurst... not to mention

Spring is in the air!!

It’s official - Spring is trying to come out of hiding in Dallas! We got a taste of that amazing Spring weather yesterday, and it was GLORIOUS! My hubby & I had a date night last night at the Shops at Legacy, and let me tell you, it was hard to find a spot on the patio! So, it is time to start preparing your Spring wardrobe, ladies! This is what I would call my “preppy pink” look, and it’s perfect for Spring! This dress is from Lauren James - they have so many classy, CUTE dresses, shorts, t-shirts, activewear... you name it! It is hard not to splurge! I paired this dress with some Vince Camuto white flats, but you could easily do a heel. Of course, nothing would be complete without these fl

Middle School Moments

When most people think about middle school, they think awkward, right? It tends to be an awkward stage for most people - a life stage when puberty hits, hormones change, and other growing pains begin that cause you to look back and say, “PHEW, I’m glad thats over!” Well, this certainly was my experience. Right before middle school began, we took a vacation to DISNEY WORLD! But, after having panic attacks on the last trip, I already had knots in my stomach about being away from home, in fear of something like “that” happening again. I began to associate anything that was far away from home with negative thoughts and feelings. Luckily, I was still interested going to many of the parks, rides,

New Year, Better Me? SPRING IT ON!

So, how are you all doing on ur New Years resolutions?? Specifically, the eating healthy, exercising and losing weight? Well, to be honest, I have gotten a late start on mine! Life just gets busy, and it has not been a major priority for me. BUT, great news, because I’m not giving up! Just getting started! Body image has always been something I have struggled with. My weight is constantly fluctuating due to stress or other things that may be going on in my life. I think by doing pageants and theatre, I put extra pressure on myself. I don’t have a great relationship with food, and that’s one of my main goals this year! In the meantime, I know that I always feel better after exercising. If I d

February Recap!

Hey lovelies! Wow! A lot has been going on since the launch of my new blog! I’m still so excited about it and very thankful. Lots of exciting things happened in February, and I thought I would share what has been going on! My sweet husband, Max, just wrapped up a musical at Echo Theatre in Dallas called "Her Song." I could seriously brag on him all day long, but let’s just say I’m extremely proud of him - and he is AMAZING! He completely surprised me at the beginning of the show and brought me up onstage to sing to me :) IT WAS SO SWEET! *Swoon* He actually just launched his professional acting website - I would highly encourage you to go check it out! www.maxjswarner.com I Love You, You're

ABOUT
Me

Our deepest fear is NOT that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our LIGHT,not our darkness that most frightens us.We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?'

ACTUALLY,

WHO ARE YOU NOT TO BE?

You are a child of God.Your playing small does not serve the world. There is NOTHING enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.We are all meant to SHINE, as children do.We were born to make MANIFEST the glory of God that is within us.It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we LET OUR OWN LIGHT SHINE,we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically LIBERATES others.
