Makeup Products I Use!

My makeup routine varies. During the week, I prefer to do lighter makeup. I don’t find a need to put a full face on every day – I try and give my skin a break plus it saves product so WHY NOT?! Now the weekends are a different story. If I am going to a show, event, having a date night or family dinner, I love putting on a full face and have that GLAM look! I have been testing different products and brands for about a year now to find what I actually LIKE & works for me vs what everyone says. I also perform onstage, so I am always looking to find products that will actually last! Different products work for different people! I will say that I have very sensitive skin in general and during the winter/spring, it gets to be very dry, but my T-ZONE is very oily.

Moisturizer – I have been using Bobbi Brown’s Priming Moisturizer daily for the past year! It makes my skin feel so soft and it has a primer in it that helps the makeup stay on and last throughout the day. I use this as my daily “cream” too, even if I am not wearing makeup.

Foundation – Makeup Forever Matte Velvet Foundation (Y255 Sand Beige)! I have been using this for 4-5 years! I love the matte look, especially since my T-Zone gets oily. I also use NARS Sheer Glow lightweight foundation (Vallauris) during the week and even mix it with the matte velvet 😊 Next up I am definitely wanting to try the Estee Lauder double wear foundation! I have heard nothing but great reviews and since I will be doing a show this summer, it would be the perfect time to try it!

Blush – Marc Jacobs or Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick! I AM ALL ABOUT BLUSH! I love color (as you know) and I am not a fan of just doing the contour look. I love to throw a little pink in there! These both give me that pop of color and the shimmer brick has a subtle glow to it that I like too!

Contour - Makeup Forever Contour/Highlighter Set– This is typically what I use to contour! It’s two in one, or you can just get the highlighter! I like the powder version because it is much easier to blend in, but that’s just my opinion! I use the highlighter on my nose, cheeks, in the corners of my eyes and maybe even on my eyelid!

Bronzer – This is a new find and I think this will be my go to-bronzer/contour! I try to use some sort of bronzer year-round to have some color. I love the way it’s IN the case, it won’t break or shatter!! It has a huge mirror attached to it too and its only $21! You can find this one at Ulta. Pro-tip – I have also been using this as my eye shadow in the crease! I am currently out of my eyeshadow palette and this gives it an overall uniform look!

Concealer – HOLY GRAIL. I have always used drugstore concealer and feel like I have to apply it 4 times to cover up my circles! I have been using the Tarte Shape Tape Heavy Duty Concealer and it is amazing! I only apply it once and I look ALIVE! I’m sure there are other good ones out there, but I don’t think I will be changing this one!

Setting Powder – Kat Von D Translucent powder has been my go-to! It doesn’t leave any shine on my face at all! Like I said, once I put it on, I don’t have to re-apply it! I’ve been using this one for about a year now.

Beauty Blenders – I have some from Sephora and they are about $20 a pop. I found some on amazon and they seem to be the exact same thing! They are 3 for $8! YES PLEASE! I use these for foundation, putting on concealer and the setting powder with a damp beauty blender!

Mascara – I have been using two mascaras because different mascaras do different things! The best drugstore one I use daily is the L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara! Start at the root and wiggle your way to the top multiple times! The other mascara I recently found is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara! Talk about heavy duty!! I do not have big eye-lashes and both of these help A LOT!

Eyebrows – I have never known what to do about my eyebrows. I don’t have a lot of hair to work with and have never gotten them waxed or anything. I recently got the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow definer and I LOVE IT! I used to fill them in with a liquid, but that was too harsh for my taste. I use the color “taupe” and it is an angular brow pencil that is EASY to work with.

Eyeshadow – Urban Decay Naked2 Palette – This specific palette has so many neutral colors both matte and shimmer options that I go between. I am not daring enough to do a smoky eye, but they do have darker colors on there I could use! Tip – bring your eyeshadow on your lower lid instead of using eye-liner if you want more of a natural look.

Eye-Liner – STILLA liquid eye liner all the way! I love using black liquid eye-liner. I started using it in shows for a more dramatic look, so it has always come easier to me. I also line by waterline & do a wing tip when I want a more dramatic! I have also used the Maybelline master precise liquid liner from the drugstore and this works too.

Lips – If I am going out, I have started using the MAC (color beet) lip liner and I have gotten so many compliments! I pair it with the Laura Mercier lipstick (a lighter pink, “sensual”) and it is a great combo! Other glosses and colors I use NYX from the drugstore. They last ALL day and sometimes it’s even hard to get it off!

As I find other products I like or change, I will be sure to update you and save the changes to my Instagram highlights! Take advantage of the sale over the weekend 😊

Happy Friday!
